 ABILENE, Texas -- For the first time in Dodie and Paul's new home, the extended family came together to celebrate the holiday. In attendance were John and Lou Humphrey, Jack and Allison Humphrey, Wade and Emmett Hampton, Ham and Amada Brown, and Sylvia Cook. There were presents galore, and great food too! An ice storm descended upon us, making it sort of a "White Christmas." We all survived the ice, though, thanks in no small part to Ham and Amada's gracious donation of their Christmas present from John and Lou: firewood! |

 BROWNWOOD, Texas -- Dr. John was recently elected an honorary member of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), in acknowledgement of his service to the Brownwood community and his contributions to ethical medicine. He was also recently recognized by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) for 30 years of membership. |

 AUSTIN, Texas -- On Thanksgiving Day 2000, the extended family came together, in Jack and Allison's new home in Austin, to celebrate the holiday. In attendance were John and Lou Humphrey, Paul and Dodie Brown, Wade and Emmett Hampton, Ham and Amada Brown, and Sylvia Cook. With contributions from Lou, Dodie, and Sylvia, Allison's delicious dinner delighted everyone. The desserts, including Allison's amazing apple cake, were especially scrumptious.

| Family Looks Forward To New Arrival |

 ABILENE, Texas -- It won't be long before there's another brother in the Brown household. We were all delighted to learn that Paul and Dodie are expecting a baby boy at the beginning of February, 2001. After an extended attempt at keeping the name choice a secret, Dodie and Paul announced that his name will be Joshua Lee Brown -- 'Joshua' for one of Paul's ancestors who fought and died in the Alamo, and 'Lee' for the family of his maternal great-grandfather.
