Prepared for them by their son Jack and daughter-in-law Allison, the new site currently includes family pictures and news. With the cooperation of the entire family, Jack and Allison hope to fill the site with family history and lore, as well as up-to-the-minute news.

Family Celebrates Christmas Holiday

BANGS, Texas -- John and Lou Humphrey gathered their family around them today in their home, Windridge, on Five Wells Farm. In attendance were Jack and Allison Humphrey, Paul and Dodie Brown, Wade and Emmett Hampton, Lola Humphrey, and Sylvia Cook. Christmas dinner was a traditional meal of turkey and dressing. Dessert featured, among other delicious treats, a chocolate chestnut torte prepared by Sylvia. And it wouldn't be Christmas without the presents, of which there were plenty.

Goats Report Satisfaction With Donkey Security

Donkeys keep goats in lineBANGS, Texas -- The goat herd of Five Wells Farm are pleased with their new guards, Jack and Ginny Donkey. The donkeys recently replaced the llama guard, on whose watch several of the herd were lost to roving coyotes. The llama, reportedly seen loitering in nearby pasture with local cattle, was not available for comment. Since the donkeys have taken over, incidents of canine violence have ceased. "We just came in and did our job," said Jack Donkey, with characteristic humility.

Occasional strife between the two donkeys apparently does not affect their job performance. "She just gets tired of him and runs him off," noted one observer of Ginny's occasional outbursts. Ginny's response: "My relationship with Jack is personal and nobody's business but ours. I can assure you that we don't let personal quarrels affect our working relationship. The security of these goats comes first."
